My New Car!

I get to pick up my new car today!! We decided that friends really shouldn't let friends drive a Chevy and are trading the Yukon in.

I'm happy to be getting another Ford. We still have my diesel pickup (to pull the camper), and Jeff's to work out of. This will be the family's car.

It's an Expedition EL. Seats 8 in nice leather seats, with a DVD player, a sun roof and Sirius Radio. Four wheel drive, of course. Our dealership didn't have any instock exactly how we wanted it, so they found one 450 miles away in Oklahoma. The guy should be delivering it this morning and we are supposed to pick it up this afternoon. Sweeeeet!

We test drove a couple. The thing I hate about my Yukon (other than the fact it's made by GM) is that it drives like a car. A car that makes horrible road noise down any road, but especially a dirt road. My new one drives like a truck. Not a big truck, but certainly not a car. And it's quiet. Now, I like my trucks loud, but not on the inside.

Can't wait to bring it home!

Nice. But you pushed my buttons with your GM-bashing, Jenny! Speaking as a (kinda-sorta) ex-GM employee, of course...one who still receives and uses (well, the family does, anyway) the GM employee discount.

I rode and shared driving in SN1's Yukon from Salt Lake City to Maine and back...there were three adults and three kids in or lil party, and, given the circumstances (two ten year olds) it was a relatively pleasant experience. The built-in DVD player/game interface and XM radio contributed mightily to that "pleasantness."

If I were into trucks (BIG if, that!) I'd have me a Chevy or a GMC.

Jsut sayin'! ;-)

Ah, well, I am an ex-Ford employee. Self-terminated my employment by going into labor with my oldest (and really still continued on an at home basis for a few years, til it became Big Valley and has gone downhill from there). I actually bought it at the Chevy store in Portales, Hamilton's. So if that helps matters any (that GM still got my money).

The Yukon is nice, if you like it to drive like a car and not a truck. Had more fancy things in it. But I's like my Fords. It was drilled into me by my father that friends don't let friends drive Chevy's. And CHEVROLET stands for:
Cheap
Heap
Every
Valve
Rusted
Oil
Leaks
Every
Time

If you want a truck to be just a nice truck to drive around town in, get a Chevy. If you want a truck to work out of, get a Ford. That's my two cents (and I have owned 2 of them). ;o)
